2004 132 734 5.6 7 11 155 14.1 0 0 0

Who is he:
I'll be honest, I don't think Michael Bush is a great player, but one the college level he puts up great numbers and is a big reason why Petrino's offense is successful. He carries a great YPC average and put up an amazing 23 TDs in 2005. Bush is a huge RB, much in the mold of LenDale White and Ron Dayne (when he was good). Coming in at 250lbs (probably a conservative guess), he's a bruiser with decent speed and once he gets squared to the line, he's a huge problem for defenses. If Louisville wants to go to the BCS this year, there's two games on their schedule that'll make them or break them in Miami and WestVa. For them to be successful in these games, Bush has to control the clock and eat up yardage. I've seen Bush pegged as high as a top 5 NFL draft pick next year -- another big stat year and it'll be hard not to take him pretty high.

Notes:
- Conf USA all freshman team
- First team big east selection
- All American candidate
- Heisman trophy watch list

What to Expect in ’06:
Petrino knows how to run an offense, and Bush is one of the biggest benefactors of that. He's got a quality nose for the goal and is a threat to score every time they get to the red zone. He can catch the ball out of the backfield, but it's really a strength to his game. I would expect another big year against a relatively weak schedule, and for Louisville to fight for the Big East crown.
Projection: 210 Rushes, 1150 Yards, 20 Reception, 200 yards, 22 Total TDs
