# 21 -- Quinn Pitcock, DL, Ohio St.

Class: Senior
Hometown: Piqua, Ohio
High School: Piqua
Height / Weight: 6-3 / 295
Position: DL
Birthdate: 09/14/1983

Career Stats:

2004: 49 Tackles, 7.5 TFL, 2 Sacks, 1 INT

Who is he:
With the departure of nearly everyone from Ohio State’s LB crew and secondary, Pitcock is going to have to anchor the defense this year. He’s come into his own the past 2 seasons and is one of the big reasons for Ohio State’s success on the defensive side of the ball. He’s got good size for a lineman but is also very quick and projects to be a 1 gap DT in the NFL. In the past few years the LB crew has garnered most of the attention, but expect the DL to be the greatest asset to a team that’s reloading on the defensive side of the ball. Pitcock is solid in run support and can get after the QB when needed. Another solid year and he projects to be a first rounder in the NFL next season.

Notes:
- All Big 10 selection
- National 1st team DT
- Lombardi watch list

What to Expect in ’06:
Pitcock is essential to Ohio State’s plans at playing for a National Championship when January rolls around. The team lost a lot of leaders and it’s going to be searching for some new captains for the defense to rally around. Pitcock needs to be that guy. If he is, expect Ohio State to be playing in a BCS bowl when January rolls around. He’s big enough, quick enough, and talented enough to be a huge disruptive force in the middle this year, and he should make buckeye fans proud this upcoming season.
Projection: 60 Tackles, 7 TFL, 3 Sacks, 1 Fumble Recovery.
