It was a frustrating game as a fan, and I'm not a conspiracy theorist or anything, but the whole city was rooting for the Steelers, and maybe this played into the biased calls on the field. The offensive pass interference call in the end zone, negating a touchdown, was pretty weak. The Roelisberger run that was called a TD was pretty bad. The offensive holding penalty that wiped out first and goal Seattle at the 2 was nonexistent, and the personal foul called against Hasselcack for tackling the guy that just intercepted him was a joke.
That's not saying that Pittsburgh didn't deserve to win. They had 3 big plays, 2 for touchdowns, which gave them the game. I wouldn't go ahead and put an asterisk next to the score, but I would have like to see a better performance from the now champs. Seattle blew it on missed FGs, dropped passes, and missed opportunities. It would have been nice to see Seattle take the lead in the fourth, then watch Big Ben have a chance to win it. Instead, his performance goes in the books as pretty mediocre, he didn’t even throw the nicest pass on his team. The MVP choices were pretty bad, FWP or Ward, I would have given it to FWP for the longest run in SB history.
It was pretty much a lackluster game by Pittsburgh, some bad calls, and a Seattle team that kept shooting themselves in the foot. Add to this the fact that Aaron "I have no business singing" Neville and Aretha "Don't call me Fat Bastard" Franklin botched the National Anthem, as well as just an atrocious half time show by some 60 year old retreads from England singing songs you've heard a million times, and they can’t even hear any longer, and you got a :| way to end the NFL season. Also, the Budweiser commercial with the young Clydesdale was touching, and the Hummer birth commercial made me cringe. My guacamole turned out like shit too, maybe that's the reason for my whole disdain, or the fact that the 30 wings I ate just shot out of my ass like a flaming comet.
So when's the draft?

Consider it an audition, a taste, if you will, on what I can bring as a guest writer to this board.

Sadly, I think this is all pretty much spot on. I'll add though that outside of the Pitt/Indy Game (which I missed the second half of) the entire postseason was :|

The commercials all sucked. Or maybe I missed the one or two that were any good by making trips to the fridge.
I'd have given the MVP to Ward before FWP. FWP only had one decent run, which was a record breaker. But the other nine carries were at a mere two yards per. Ward caught the TD plus had the catch that set-up the Ben pseudo-TD. All five catches were for first downs.
Also kudos to Randle El. Despite the TD pass - the best Steeler throw of the game - he also had tackles on both Ben turnovers and a couple pretty good punt returns.

Also he came back from what looked like a broken back when he got hit in the air and the back of his head smacked his feet. Looked pretty scary.

Also, I think my analysis of the game would be skewed because of the 9 pounds of cheese currently in my intestinal tract. I think it's made me a bit cranky...

I thought for sure he was done after that.

Brady > Roethlisberger
I was real disappointed in his performance yesterday. If the refs weren't on the Pitt payroll, we would have seen Seattle with the lead with ~6 minutes left, with a chance to see Big Ben win it, would have been cool.

The only one that made me laugh at all was the Sprint 'Theft Deterrent' commercial. I thought that was pretty good.

Great point, I thought for sure Herman was gone for that TD and Randle El came out of nowhere to make the tackle.
In a mistake filled game of dropped passes, questionable penalties, piss poor clock management, poor QB play, missed field goals, and even terrible punting, he had a hell of a game.
Ward dropped a few passes himself before he made his big plays, It would have been nice to see Randle El get the MVP.

That's who I voted for on NFL.com.

it's crazy that the best pass of the game comes from a WR and is dead on, 40yds down the field. That was a hell of a pass. The Steelers did just enough to win and Seattle focked themselves in the ass just enough to lose. It was a pretty :| Supa Bowl....

When your team wins a fixed Super Bowl, I guess that's what you expect the next morning.

I agree with whatever bitching is being made. I'm not gonna let it bother me though. Suck shit. :hyper:

I won 600 on the Steelers, I knew the fix was in! :hyper:
Somehow, the media will use this lackluster SB as another excuse to slam the city of Detroit. Rite it down.
