We'll wait and see what Edge does with his new team.
I love mock drafts. "That's a crappy pick". How the fuck do you know? Everyone was creaming their pants over Willis McGahee last year, and he sucked.
Edge has been a consistent performer for a long time. His "question marks" are really no different than any other question marks. You know, if I had picked Portis, someone would have said that I should pick Barber. Really, unless you go off the reservation in round 1, you're not going to "lose" a draft. Where you hurt yourself is in rounds 3-6.

Im really less than thrilled with the Tiki selection at 6. If this was a real draft I would have tried to trade down to 10 or so. I believe the same value can be had with a Jackson/Jordan type, and a trade down could have netted an extra mid round pick to select a quality RB3 or the like.

In my money league, I'd probably go WR at #4 as WRs get a PPC and the gaps between elite WRs and WRs 5-12 are more significant than the gaps between RBs 4-12.

fricker's point is...he's really not a bad frafter and he's using the fact that he's in mulitiple leagues to support his point...
However...his opening argument is mediocre at best, and from his statements above it can be determined that he's also bad at lawyering. fricker pretty much just sucks at everything except the cooking....and the fact that we still can't get an updated recipe for the tailgating page is leaving doubts about that in this posters mind as well.

That wasn't my point at all. I was just commenting that in my real league, because of the scoring system, WRs are just as valuable as RBs, and the gap between the elite and the second tier is wider, so I'd probably be more likely to draft a round 1 WR at position #4 after the big 3 RBs are gone.
Silly me, I actually thought we could blast through this thing in a couple days. As it is, I'll be out of the pocket all weekend, starting today at 5:00 EST (returning Monday at 7:00am EST).
I assume most would rather do this mock during the week, but if I'm wrong, someone can step in for me if I'm holding the thing up.

It's round 1, and I've been burned a lot the past few years taking the next big RB in the first round. Not happenening this year. Rudi is a consistently good producer and should get a 3rd straight 1400 yard, 14 TD season this year.
For re-drafts, you won't see me take Ronnie, Caddy, or SJax in round 1.

maybe so, but a lot of people, including myself, didn't even give themselves a shot at winning last year because they took KJones, SJax, and Julius Jones too high based on the potential of a 1400 yard, 14 TD season. I'm not making that mistake again this year.

I don't think the Edge pick was that bad. Obviously Edge wasn't going to last until the second round, and since you don't really trade picks in a mock draft, he needs to take the best player he believes is available that won't be around at his next pick. Thinking Edge will do better than Portis or Tiki is not that big of a stretch.

I've found it rather crapass so far. Both picks have been gambles.
I could've taken Manning in the first, but it's tough to break from the RB first rule, especially knowing I'd get liquified shit at RB as a result. Then, when it rolls around in the second, the big name WRs are gone. So then I'm forced to grab one of the decent remaining RBs out there.
Tough spot, 7th.

Reason being, I play in 3 leagues that run through Yahoo (My ATL league with friends & fam, my college buddies from Clemson league (2x defending champ btw), and my work league). Yahoo only allows 3 leagues per ID unless they've changed their rules.

I can make my commentary now...
Maybe I've overrating Westbrook, or underrating Dom Davis and KJones, but I think Westbrook should go ahead of them. In CHIMI, my RBs are Portis and those 3, and if I were asked for a depth chart I would definitely have it as Portis, Westbrook, Davis, Jones.
Westbrook was highly efficient last year and might catch even more balls this year without T.O. He's the ultimate RB for a #2 since he never gets shut out because of his dual threat abilities. He won't get that 200 yard rushing game, but he still averaged 14ppg last year.

I was down to Westbrook, McGahee and a yet-to-be picked WR. I was tempted to take the WR, but I see more depth coming back around at 3.04 at WR.

I'm not necessarily excited about my pick as well...but I can get the same quality WR coming back at 3.03

I thought about Westbrook - it was a tossup between him and Jones at my pick. I took a gamble on the guy with slightly more upside (IMO).
The unknown possiblities are usually more enticing to me than knowing what you're going to get, in mocks anyway. Westbrook could have a career year, but he could get hurt again too (something he's pretty good at). I think, without TO, Philly needs to completely retool their offense to more of a running game, and I'm not sure they can effectively do that.

I really like the Moss pick. Brooks throws a good deep ball and likes to launch it. If Moss stays healthy, his team might suck, but he should put up good numbers. I heard someone saying that he's "old". Well, he's three years younger than Owens and one year younger than Holt.
Needless to say, the debate at my last pick was between McGahee and Moss.

I did a side by side comparison of Moss and Holt when I was up and it was close. Moss might go higher in terms of production then Holt, but Moss also has more of a chance of going 65/1050/8 which wouldnt really warrant a 2nd round pick IMO. Moss has new QB and new coaches with a "run first" philosophy in place in Oakland.

Back at you.
That's one of the two on my list, and surprsingly not the one I expected he would take.
Personally, I wouldn't have gone with a RB there, but I know that would be HIGHLY unpopular. IMHO RBs 16-28 or even 30 are all a muddled mess this year. So many situations where there are major questions or guys fighting for PT. I'll admit that Parker is certainly at the top of that muddled mess, but i'd still have gone with 2 top 10 WRs here to add to SA, and
then take my chances finding a diamond in rounds 4-7 for a #2 RB.

I weighed that when drafting. I always like the chances of RB's over WR's when they are weighed the same. There is no guarentee that a WR will be thrown the ball 10 times a game, or whatever, but atleast a RB will get his carries, and that's only if Steve Mariucci isn't the coach. :hyper:

Also, I love the Jamaal Lewis pick. I was having a PM exchange with OB about the SD Jones picks, saying that I would have taken Harrison and Lewis there. I think having McNair will do a world of good for Lewis...will move some LBs out of the middle of the field so that Lewis has somewhere to run.
He was also on my list at 3.03, but he wasn't that far ahead to justify another RB pick.

I meant in this mook mock... and I need to add Kevin Jones to that list as well.
My point being, he's as consistent as anything in the league the past few years.
I'm just following my draft plan of not wasting high draft picks on players who haven't proven anything to me yet.
Also, Hines and Wayne were great value picks.

Cool. I'm clearly the gambler in this draft. I'm either going to be stellar or godawful.
I went that way a good bit... I honestly thought I was going to clean-up one re-draft where I managed McGahee, KJones, and JJones. It was a struggle for 500%.
I've noticed that all 5 of the leagues I've won the past 3 years, I went very safe early on and nailed a few guys later.
League 1: Harrison, Taylor, Dunn, Holt through 4 rounds
League 2: Alexander, McNabb, Holt, and Gonzo through 4 rounds
League 3: Manning, Tiki, Westbrook, and Dunn through 4 rounds
etc...
Everytime I went with a Barlow, a Tatum Bell, or a Julius Jones, it was an extreme struggle.
ETA: throw in some risk/reward in the 5-8 rounds, get a blue collar QB, and get some aging vets (your Jimmy Smith type guys) and I think that's the best route to go for redraft success.

It was a struggle for 500%.
Even if you won just 400% of your games, I'd say that pretty impressive
or pretty impossible depending on how you look at it :D

Thanks Rodney for stepping in. I got my computer today, so I should be able to check in tomorrow.
Also, I would have taken Harrison over Boldin. :screams:

Chester Taylor wasn't available to be picked when Dillon was selected.

Sonofbitch!!! Ow well, dillon still sucks. I'll take Deuce for some solid production. I don't buy that much into the Bush hype. Will bush take touches? Yup. Enough to fraft him above the starter? :dunno: But i see Deuce getting 15-20 touches total per game. And he is a proven ff monster when healthy.
Also I'm gone for the next week.
TK is fired as my by proxy frafter for that Dillon pick. :weary: You are a great spicehammer but we're worlds away in draft stratagem. so use the following
rankings for my craptastic frafting:

Since it looks like you won't be participating in the mock from here on out, I believe you will take Dillon and you will like it mister.
[sigh]
now to find yet another replacement....

4.06 - Carson Palmer, QB, CIN
I'll obviously have to get someone to step in to cover the early part of the year, but Palmer is arguably the best QB in the league and I'm pretty geeked to land him here.
Good pick TK. I almost pulled him off the board at 4.01

It's nice to actually be on the starting end of a trend instead of sucking hind tit for once.

It's only a trend if other people start taking QBs.
