# 17 -- Justin Blalock, OL, Texas
Class: SR.
Hometown: Dallas, TX
Height: 6-4
Weight: 330
Who is he:
Justin Blalock is the best returning player to the defending National Champs, the Texas Longhorns. He's the anchor that allows those great backs to post big stats and leads one of the best OLines in the nation. He's light on his feet in pass protection as well, even though he'll make his money at the next level paving the way for the running game. Blalock likely would've gone in the upper part of the first round had he come out, but he decided to return and should be the team's undisputed leader.
Notes:
- Had started every game all 3 years
- 1st team Freshman All-American
- 1st team All Big 10
- 1st team All American
What to Expect in ’06:
Blalock won't be blocking for Vince anymore, so he probably shoulders a little bit bigger load this year for whichever Texas QB wins the starting job. Either way, they won't be as mobile and the pocket will need to hold longer. If Blalock can improve upon his pass blocking and continue to pave big holes with his run blocking, he should be a top 10 selection in next seasons draft. If Texas wants to repeat, it'll start up front with Blalock.
