SOme of you may be familiar with the "Hometown Heros" contest on MLB.com. Basicly they take "the 5 best players from every team in their entire history" and have the fans vote on them to see who is number 1.

I was watching the Braves/Phillies game last night and figured what the heck, i'll go do it. I go to the site and look at the choices for the Braves and, to my utter surprise and disgust, Dale Murphy isnt even a fucking choice???!!!:screams:  :screams:

Choices were:

Hank Aaron - of course
Phil Neikro - ok
Warren Spahn - sure
John Smoltz - To early to be included in greatest of all time.
Chipper Jones - good but not worthy of this company and certainly not better than Murphy.

Needless to say I did a write-in vote for Murphy.

Anyone else pissed off with their teams choices?

Although he is a complete cock sucker and really ended his Cubs career on a bad note, I was surprised that Sammy Sosa was left off. His numbers and his charisma defined that team for almost a decade.

Isn't Smoltz over Maddux a surprising choice for the Braves too? I know Smoltz has been there longer, but Maddux was the #1 guy for the majority of their run, no?

I can't get to MLB.com, so I have to guess at the Tigers top 5...

Cobb
Greenberg
Kaline
Trammell?
Whitaker?

Gibson?
Morris?

Yes. Maddux won a few Cy Youngs and a crapload of gold gloves with the Braves.

Do I really have to register at mlb.com in order to see who the Indian's top 5 are? I'll just assume its:

Bob Feller
Bud Black
Pat Tabler
Candy Maldonado
Jesse Orosco

Carlos Baerga?

Actually, the sad thing is that in my memory, the list would look like:

Albert Belle :sadbanana:
Manny Ramirez :sadbanana:
Jim Thome :sadbanana:
Kenny Lofton :dunno:
Omar Vizquel :dunno:

Their ACTUAL best players were off the charts on the douche factor, so they didn't include them: JuanGon, Rafeal, ARod...
