UPGRADES

Tennessee - I don't think any team made a bigger impact that Tennessee yesterday with their thrashing of Cal. David Cutcliffe might prove to be the best hire in the offseason as he had Ainge and the Tenn O clicking all day. I actually will probably move them ahead of UGA now in the SEC East into the #2 spot since UGA's QB situation is pretty shaky.

Texas's chances at an undefeated season - I know it wasn't a stellar opponent, but Colt McCoy looked good and the defense shouldn't miss a beat. I think they get past OSU next week and OU has a lot of work if they want to challenge.

Big East - they actually went 2-1 vs. the ACC. Granted, UNC and UVA aren't the greatest teams in the conference, but neither are Pitt and Rutgers.

DOWNGRADES

Colordao - Sad, just really sad.

Oklahoma - They're lucking they have Peterson or they would be 0-1 right now. This could be a long year for the Sooners.

Michigan - There's no reason Michigan should've had that much trouble with a rebuilding Vandy team (as if Vandy is good when they're not rebuilding).

HOLDING STEADY

ND - well, they're steady in my view. I don't think they're the #2 team. I figured GT would give them trouble and in all honesty, GT probably deserved to win that game. There was a bad call on the personal foul and then the non-call against ND in the 4th quarter.

Most of the other top 25 teams - Oregon, VT, Clemson, UGA, UF, WVU, Auburn, etc... all took care of business against lesser teams.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Calvin Johnson - stud

Garrett Wolfe - stud

Colt McCoy - making people believe.

The top player on my NCAA FF team was Purdue WR Dorien Bryant with 154 recieving and 2 Td's. He also had 21 yards rushing.

Just a quick response on your "bad calls" comment on the ND game. There were equal bad calls against ND that cost them points. On the first drive, Rhema McKnight was called for holding on a Samadzija reception that cost the Irish 25 yards or so and a scoring opportunity. After the questionable personal foul call, the refs made an equally questionable holding call the other way (payback), but ND managed to score anyhow. The officiating was horrible both ways, and did not "give" ND the win.

I lost 86-85 in one league. This was primarily due to Curtis Brown's ineffectiveness against Arizona. It was painful to watch.

In another league I actually won the game by a point but we give 6 points for home field advantage so I lost by 5 since I was the road team.

I didn't say the refs gave ND the game... Chan Gailey did that on his own.

The call should've been a non-call on both or a call on both -- it didn't happen that way and they both happened to be at critical times.

So, the opening drive was not critical?

I could understand your argument if there were 30 seconds remaining in the game, but there was still over 20 minutes left in the game when that personal foul was called.

As for who gave the game, I think you saw just how good Weis is at adjusting. ND ended up outgaining Tech by 125 yards. If you listened to idiot Brent, you would have thought it was the opposite. Tech held ND in check for 20 minutes and was able to use Calvin Johnson before the staff adjusted. For the following 40 minutes, the game was one-sided the other way. Tech certainly did not "deserve" to win the game.
