There is no Free Agent activity this week. I happens each week AFTER a regular season game (17 weeks worth if you've got the coin to spend)

Thoughts and Questions - post em here.

Basicly you can list 3 names in a bid.

That can be three straight bids

Bid 1 on player A
Bid 2 on player B
Bid 3 on player C

You could wind up spending 6 of your 17 points in this one bidding session.

If you want to save money but get a particular position (say PK)

Bid 2 on player A If Not Then Bid 1 on Player B
Bid 1 on Player C

there are actually TWO bids (one straight, one conditional IF NOT THEN)
The most one could spend in this setup is 3 points.

You can only name 3 players. Any player past the 3 name listed is ignored.

If I get a bid like this

Bid 3 on player A IF NOT THEN Bid 3 on player B IF NOT THEN Bid 1 on player C

Bid 2 on player D IF NOT THEN Bid 2 on player E IF NOT THEN Bid 2 on player F

Bid 1 on Player G IF NOT THEN Bid 1 on Player H IF NOT THEN Bid 2 on Player I

would be process as

Bid 3 on player A IF NOT THEN Bid 3 on player B IF NOT THEN Bid 1 on player C

and ignore any references to players D thru I

There is no Free Agent activity this week.
I will post a copy of the rules tomorrow during the day.

Does everyone understand the example above. That is the single most confusing part of the process especially with the new players.

You can only NAME 3 players per weekly bid and they can be straight or conditional or any combination. BUT you can only name 3 players period.

Its not name a bunch of players for 3 bidding slots.

While I'm certain MGB had problems understanding this (probably still does being a mouthbreather and all) you'll experience no greenhorn waiver request from me.

Also, MGB's breath smells like crayons.

Free Agency
1. A blind bid system of free agent access is open each week of NFL regular season games (17 weeks).

2. FA Submission deadline: midnight Eastern Coast time of every Thursday following each one of the NFL regular season games.

3. Each team starts the Active Season with 17 points.

4. The minimum bid on a free agent is 1 point. A team may bid all their points on one player.

5. FA points maybe included in trades with draft picks and/or players during the Active Season.

6. FA points alone cannot be traded directly between players.

7. Each team will submit blind bids to the Vice-Commissioner and the Commissioner by the deadline.

8. The Vice-Commissioner and Commissioner (CC's) must submit bids to each other by the same deadline.

9. The absence of a submission by the deadline cannot be excused due to technical difficulties.

10. If only one CC received a FA order that conflicts with bids from a list received by both members, the later will receive precedence.

11. By 10:30am Friday morning an agreed action/result list will be posted and roster changes implemented.

12. Each team may submit up to 3 names with bids. The total of the 3 bids cannot exceed the amount of FA points a franchise possesses.

13. Free agents will be awarded to franchises that submit the highest bid to both CC's by the deadline.

14. In case of a tie bid, the team with the lowest regular season standing based on the in season Ranking Order. Once the Fantasy regular season ends (Week 14 of NFL games), the remaining weeks of FA access (NFL weeks 15 through 17) Rank Order used will be the one that seeded the Fantasy Playoffs.

15. Free agent awards received by only one CC before the deadline will be awarded only if there was no bid on that player from any team that submitted bids to both CCs.

16. If the web host site will allow blind bids mechanisms, the above maybe amended.

17. (Added 08/25/03) A full list of team bids will be posted by Friday afternoon on the FFToday message board or another mutually agreed public forum.

18. (Added 08/25/03) This list will include the time received, the number of bids submitted, each bid with name and price.

19. (Added 08/25/03) No team may submit bids totaling more than the remaining FA points the team owns.

20. (Added 09/08/03) A conditional bid established with the 2003 season allows teams to conserve limited funds. An IF NOT/THEN order maybe added to conditionally place bids on players if the 1st (or 2nd) choice was not successful. Once a player is successfully obtained, any futher conditionals within the same bid will be ignored.

21. (Added 09/08/03) A team may not "ripple bid" a player. Example: Bid 3 for RB James Studly, IF NOT/THEN bid 4 for RB James Studly, IF NOT/THEN bid 6 for RB James Studly. You cannot submit the same name more than once during any weekly bid.

22. (Added 09/08/03) If a team submits more than 3 names in a bid, any names past the first three that appear will be ignored.

23. (Added 09/08/03) If a team submits a bid that totals more FA points than the team has to spend, the entire bid will be ignored.

We modified Rank Order in the Free Agency to not include Divisional wins, since they occur each week and teams have different numbers of Divisional Wins and Losses dependant upon schedule.

Reverse Rank Order for Free Agency does not include Divisional Wins or Loses

Rank Order Rule:
Total Wins, Total Loses, Total Points Against, Total Points For, Flip of Coin. The Regular Fantasy Season Rank Order is used in many subsequent league processes.
