Are we having a fraft for the new teams or are each of us inheriting one?

How many keepers do you get?

Everybody with an existing team will cut down to 5 on March 1.

Tentatively on March 5th, a 5-round, no trading fraft will be held for the new owners. Players will be selected from the three teams released after owners abandoned them, plus all current MLB players but the 45 kept players on March 1 by existing teams (ie, no rookies).

Will the draft be held here or will it be live via a chatroom or messenger provider? The reason I ask is because I'll be working March 5th. I'll have access to this site, but probably not Yahoo, MSN, AOL, etc.

Also, how many rounds?

Does it have to be? Can we do it here or are we having it at CBS mainly for ease of entering roster reasons?

except for the inevitable hiccup where something goes wrong, the java draft at CBS is pretty cool. When it works, it's a fun tool--immediate chat, queues, hotlinks to player stats, etc.

And yeah, the selections go right into rosters online.

that draft will be "slow live." It's currently set for March 13.

HOWEVER: There is a reasonable chance i will be in Virginia for a funeral the preceeding weekend. I have to sadly say it will probably be sooner, but it could be then. I'll keep youse posted.

Generally what we do is start in the morning, then have a mandatory session Monday night. The rest of the time we just try to use badgering and persuasion to keep people apprised. CBS does send "you're up" notices to email.

via email to keep them private until March 1st if you wish, or here is fine too.

So far I've gotten Tony's and that's it!
