Top 5 bands/singers everybody seems to like, but you hate:
I've actually tried to like the following, but just couldn't, and gave up.
5. Disturbed. I know, they rock and all, but there's just something about them I just can't get into.
4. REM. I gave up trying to like these guys in the early 90's. Shiny Happy People was probably what did it.
3. The Eagles. Poorly disguised country music. 3 guitars, yet mellow and boring.
2. Dave Matthews Band. I used to like Satellite, but that's pretty much it. Now I want to commit random acts of violence upon anyone who suggests I listen to them.
1. Coldplay. I listened to OK Computer in it's entirety, wondering what the hubbub was about. I still have no idea, as it was terrible from cover to cover. Yellow's okay, but that's about it.
Honorable mention: Bruce Springsteen. Crappy voice, marginal talent = supahstar? WTF?

I dislike most on your list as well. Just to introduce some new ones into the mix....
5. The Rolling Stones - I was never really a fan, but I realized on the Super Bowl that I really dislike them. Maybe if I was old, they'd make me think of the good ole' days and make me like them, but I'm in my prime.
4. REM - I was going to try to stay completely original, but their music annoys the fuck out of me.
3. Red Hot Chili Peppers - Just never a big fan of much of their music besides Under the Bridge.
2. The Grateful Dead - Sounded more like noise than music to me.
1. Aerosmith - Their whole fucking catalog is just annoying. Janie's Got a Gun, Crazy, Love In an Elevator, blah blah blah. They had like six one-word songs that all sounded the same to me. Trash.

I really really really do not understand the obsession some people have for these bands.
Some of the others in here i don't care for either, but i'm too :| about them to even muster up any hate.

I was hoping someone would catch this -- also OK Computer is my favoritest album ever.

2. AC/DC - How many times can you re-write the same damn song?
3. Nickelback - They have at least one retardedly stupid line in every song.

Very tough question because there are bands that I liked at first who I dislike now (Pink Floyd, e.g.) and bands that I originally disliked that I now appreciate (Dylan, Genesis, e.g.). Also, I don't listen to much commercial radio anymore, so I probably am unaware of some overrated bands. I'll say:
- Allman Brothers
- Phish
- Heart

3. Creed - Not that anyone here likes them, but good god did they suck.
4. The Cure - Everyone I knew loved them in High School, I thought Robert Smith was a whiney little bitch. :dunno:
5. Kiss - Never understood the big deal about them?

The songs you list are definitely the suck. They put out some good songs back in the day...Dream On, Same Old Song and Dance, Sweet Emotion, Walk This Way, Back in the Saddle, Come Together.
These all came out before the MTV generation so they don't get much love.
