didn't feel right.

In playing with a model I am wroking, This needs to go through the same growth cycle that the original dungeon did

a base draft in January

A June draft and an August draft

Anyway - I need to resurrect this project during the course of this season and recruit a league ready to draft in January.

Here are the two models for consideration

Small Lineup League
1 QB
1 RB
4 WR
1 TE
1 Kicker
(8 players)
2 DLine
2 LB
4 DB
1 Punter
(8 players)

The salary cap would be tighter than the original Dungeon so that teams couldn't harbor 3 or 4 running backs.

Large Lineup League
A total team concept of having 22 starting positions
1 QB
2 RB
6 WR
1 TE
1 Kicker
( 11 offensive players)
3 DLine
3 LB
4 DB
1 Punter
(11 defensive players)

Given the injuries and other uncontrolable factors (Jail, Accidents, Retirements) - each team needs to have at least 36 players on the roster before entering the season. Probably more. The salary cap would be a little more than the current Dungeon with more emphasis on the yearly drafts to rebuild each year.

I have several thoughts that may take a few posts and will likely appear over a few days. Here's the first.

Punting: How the heck would we score that? Two punts from the guy's own 25 that travel 45 and 55 yards would be easy - the 55 yarder should be worth more. But if they both result in 45 yards of net punting, then maybe not. A 35 yarder that gets downed at the five yard line - that's worth more than a 45 yard net punt that's downed between the twenties, right? Touchbacks = bad, right? Long punt returns = bad, right? Fair catches = good, right? Outkicking your coverage = bad, right?

Maybe you've got this all figured out already. Or maybe it's not worth trying to figure out and we go with an extra IDP.

Punter staqts could include
distance, return and if inside the 20 yard line.

Number of punts is an odd "value" that would make getting a punter on a weak offensive team worth a little more if the special teams could keep the return yards average under control.

I'm not sure if or how number of punts should be included.

thanks
