I've been busy moving all week and haven't any time to plug into the goings on of the world.

I flipped on ESPN this morning whilst enjoying a healthy part of this nutritious breakfast when I saw a freaking ASSLOAD of players were fropped yesterday.

WTF happened?

It's expected to be even worse today. Teams are dumping a lot of players due to a stagnant salary cap by way of no CBA. It hath been dubbed "Black Thursday."

Actually, I had heard "Bloody Thursday" (by the way, I'm really glad we got the old rolleyes back).

Teams expected the cap to go up, when it didn't, they had to let guys go. Big market owners can't agree with small market owners, so they in turn can't really begin to bargain with the players (who're asking for WAY too much)... the whole thing is a mess so we're looking at status quo this year (with a bloodletting today), and probably an uncapped year next year (unless the two sides can make an agreement REALLY soon).

Incidentally, I think a lot of this is posturing and they're glad to get the extra publicity... I don't see a stopage anywhere in the future, but things sure look not-so-great right now. :sadbanana:
