:screams:

Everything that goes down the drain at my house, is coming back up into the basement. :|

I take a shower, this blast of stink comes out of the basement. :screams:

The city is sending their plumber out to snake the lines, and hopefully take care of this. I don't need to be paying for someone to dig up my yard and replace the line to the main sewer. :wigglypea:

I think that that is EXACTLY what you need.

I hope the city takes care of it though. It's their focking tree's that would of caused the problem not mine.

:dunno:

once the gas, water, or sewage lines are "outside" of your house, they're the town's property/responsiblity, no?

I just had some friends go through this. They were told it was their responsibility out to the main.

UPDATE:

The city snaked the drain, and got some tree roots out. It's cleared and I may need to call them every year to do so until it needs replacing. I don't plan on staying in this house forever, so hopefully I can get out before I have to! :hyper:

If it happens again, and the water backs up, make sure it flows into the basement so that you can report it to your homeowners insurer.:hyper: We had the same problem. We had a friendly adjuster come out to the house, and he adjusted the loss to our basement such that it almost paid for the entire outside job.
