Looking ahead to Week 9
Playoff seedings:
The teams with the top 4 win-loss records will occupy the playoff seedings 1 through 4 respectively. Playoff seedings 5 and 6 will be filled by the 2 wild card teams. The team with the highest total points not in the top 4 seedings will be the fifth seed and the team with the best win-loss record not in the top 5 seedings will be the sixth seed in the playoffs.
An enormous playoff positioning matchup between Pungo and Dreaded Deeds. Both come in at 4-4 and one will definitely be 4-5 afterwords. Shoot them all, Tax Tech and Humboldt could all use a win to stay alive. Points scored will come into play in a big way for those who are fighting for a spot since now the College of Lawn Mower Repair can not drop below a 4th playoff ranking with the win this week (unless someone can average about 200 points a game for their last two games which is unlikely).
Boredom and Death Valley have clinched at least a playoff spot and are fighting now to hold on to a first round bye. If Camelot U wins next week, their chances look good to clinch a playoff seat. The only problem is that they play #1 Death Valley U next week so watch out.
Battle for highest point total not in top 4:
Dreaded Deeds 772
Pungo 766
Sea One 756
Sin City College 749
Humboldt 740
There is still a lot to play for in the final two weeks of the regular season. Even the last place team could have two strong point scoring weeks and make it in at this point so nobody is out of it.
