Each year I lose my mind up until the summer rolls back around and then I dive right into the draft.

If you will add things that you think the league should consider for next year I promise to read what you write and make note of it.

i still would like to try splitting into two divisions..not sure if this would work or not be just a thought.

Also, id love to try to maybe expand the roster and try out 2-3 keepers a year....maybe restrict it to players who get redshirts??

How about listing a backup at each position?

If one of your players does not play due to injury (and injury only), you get the backup you put in.

Coaches are so tight lipped about injuries. For example, Jake Sharp was "day to day", but he ended up missing about a month.

Just throwing it out there.

This is getting to be a HUGE problem because there are no injury reporting guidelines for NCAA like there are in NFL. I think its less of a problem at positions such as RB and WR due to depth and viable options available than it is at QB. I know some leagues have gone to starting 2 QBs and I wonder if its because of this issue.

Maybe we could have something like a "emergency player" or something.

If you are in a situation where you have a guy that may or may not play, you can have another player in reserve to take his place. I think the player in question would at least need to be listed as probable though.

For instance, If Dan LeFevor is listed as probable all week and fro some reason he doesnt start, i could have Snead in as my emergency starter.

This could only be done for 1 position per week though.

I dont know, just throwing this out there for discussion.

Or we could just list one per position and if we can present evidence that the player was not allowed to play due to an injury or last second suspension that was unannounced by our gametime the emergency player could be entered. One way or the other we should do something here. Its getting quite annoying for all involved. It also gives us more to use our already enormous rosters for.

Annoying is the correct word. You can't take anything the coaches say seriously. "Day to day" has turned out to be "month to month" with zero information leading up to the games. So if you have the slightest inkling of doubt as to the health of a player, you have to sit him to avoid a goose egg.

I look at Dester McCluster as a recent example (not injured, just rested). I think if you spell out what needs to happen for a backup to be inserted in the rules, it would be a great idea (i.e. you can make it just for injury, also also include suspensions and healthy scratches due to a coach "resting a player" (not if your qb doesn't play because he was benched. or rb, or wr)

It would be very easy to verify. I just go to google news the day after the game, and there are usually a ton of articles about why someone didn't play.

Laxref sent me a link to a test league he set up for us at Fantrax and it looks great. We may be able to automate the scoring for this baby next season. :hyper:

Just a heads up, I used Fantrax for my other league this year. I have heard they are going pay next year.

Add defense points for sacks...even if it's just 1.

find a source that consistently gives these out for each team in a timely manner and we'd do it in a heartbeat

i dont know if i would want to go to a keeper league or not due to we have limited number of teams in the draft. With the way we have it now you have draft your entire team and gives everyone equal opportunity to get good players. if you draft last and keep the #1 player and he's returning i dont see how drafting last works due to he already has the #1 pick.
if its voted in then fine by me. i'll play anyway.

should we change the draft order? if you win it, the year before you draft last and if last you draft first and so on by how you finish.

I don't want my draft order dictated by finish, I finished next to last and under that scenario I would have the #2 pick, I would much rather have the last pick in the first round. But that is just me. However if we move to a keeper league then I could see having order dictate draft pick.

The NCAA tracks them. Here is the stats from the Bama/Auburn game. If you scroll down you will see the sacks stats.

So it looks like having emergency players has the most consensus.

I am going to take a stab at the legislation.

There will remain open on FAI a thread for emergency/sub players in case of an unannounced player change due to an injury that occurred prior to the game or a discipline issue that was unannounced our any other reasonable instance where a player was expected to play and did not because of information that was not made available prior to game time. The player must not have accumulated any fantasy points to be eligible to be subbed. If a player injures himself or is otherwise removed from the game during pregame warm-ups or before accumulating stats the player can not be subbed for an emergency/sub player.

A link to an article of a reputable news source such as a local newspaper, national news source, or blog by an established journalist (no links to internet football community forums) stating why the player didn't play must be emailed to the commissioner within 24 hours of the game's kickoff in order to call up a reserve.

Each owner may list up to one reserve at every position except for defense.

(Can anyone think of ways this could be abused? Who should I send my link to if a player doesn't play?)

Also looking to expand roster size to 19 instead of 18 to help with the additional rule change.
