McCown was the fastest QB in free agency.

First off, this FA period has been pretty exciting.

Second, I think McCown has a chance to do well in Oakland. Good at avoiding trouble (mainly because he has plenty of experience in that area) good arm, smart kid. He'll find Moss deep so that attention-starved bastard will shut up most of the time. Has a good out of the backfield target in Jordan. He could find his own there, and I hope he does.

I like Josh better than most. Nice kid. Goes to church. Plays hard. I'm not sure about the smart kid comment, but that's okay.

The FF hype will be funny. I'm on the bandwagon, window seat, near the exit...

I'm basing this off his interviews and the way he's handled this whole thing, as well as what he accomplished while being used like an up-and-down minor leaguer in baseball. He's certainly not dumb and seems to just roll with whatever he's handed. If he gets the nod and is assured of being able to hang onto it despite some growing pains, he'll be fine.

Don't forget Gus Ferotte. Dolphins released him.

I think the Bucs may release Griese as well.

McCown hasn't signed. NFL Network jumped the gun. He's visiting Al tomorrow.

Jordan is a shitty out-of-the-backfield target. He led the NFL in drops, and having watched their games, most of them were very easy balls to catch that he just doinked. But, Jordan can pound the rock, and if the guard play improves significantly, should give defenses reason to believe the Raider QB won't be dropping back to pass 2/3ds of the time.

You could have softened the blow a little. :sadbanana:

I meant when and if his team travels there and he happens to be playing.

What's there to say really? A mistake prone team signs a horrible decision maker for a perfect storm of offensive ineptitude. No need to dwell on it.

My favortire Aaron Brooks play is when he has the ball 3rd and 4 and drops back to pass. After sliding to his left a running lane opens up that would easily get him 6 yards, but he stands there for three seconds until the pursuit catches up to him and everyone in the stadium is yelling, "RUUNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!"
