# 36 -- Charles Gordon, DB, Kansas

Class: RS Senior
Hometown: Carson, Calif.
High School: Santa Monica HS
Height / Weight: 5-11 / 180
Position: Cornerback

Career Stats:

2004 KU 57 Tackles, 7 INTs, 8 PBUs, 1 Forced Fumble

Who is he:
Arguably the best cover corner in America (#2 on my list, though). He's been shutting down Big 12 WRs and should be a first round draft pick in the 2007 draft. Has a good combo of size and speed that keeps opposing teams from throwing in his direction. Also doubles as a KR/PR and sometimes as a WR. Gordon has the ability to play any WR in the nation one on one and easily shuts down half the field in every game.

Notes:
- 3rd team All-America (Associated Press)
- Led the Big 12 and tied for the national lead with seven interceptions
- 1st team All-Big 12 honors (AP, coaches) as a defensive back and was an honorable mention selection as an all-purpose player (AP)

What to Expect in ’06:
Gordon doesn't get thrown to very often, so expect his stats to be lower than other CBs, but it's not a knock on his effectiveness. Big 12 teams have learned not to throw in his direction the past few years, and will probably do the same this year.
Projection: 30 tackles, 12 PBUs, 5 INTs
