Who is he:
Darby has been the rock of the Alabama offense over the past 2 years and has improved his #s in his tenure as the Tide's primary RB. With Croyle now gone, expect Alabama to run Darby even more, possilbly reaching 300 carries this season. Expect Darby to take his game to even another level this year and become the most productive RB at Alabama since Shaun Alexander ran through the SEC. Darby has also improved his hands and is catching more balls out of the backfield.

Notes:
- 2004 Second-Team All-SEC (AP)
- 2004 SEC Offensive Player of the Week vs. Mississippi State
- 2004 Collegesportsreport.com SEC Player of the Week vs. Mississippi State

What to Expect in ’06:
Darby might not be the best RB in the SEC (or even the best in his state), but he's a highly talented RB with a complete skill set. He should get more work this year and it'll translate into big stats. If he can maintain his 5 YPC average he's accumulated, expect a big year for Darby and the Crimson Tide.
Projection: 290 carries, 1440 Yards, 10 TDs. 40 Receptions, 220 Yards, 2 TDs

Bold statement, considering he only had 3 TD's last year....

His TDs were down, but I think don't think that was an indicator of his performance. He did have 9 the year before when Croyle was out.

I don't think he'll be as good as Alexander was, but in the meantime since Alexander left, the only decent RB was Shaud Williams. Shaud was a nice player, but Darby's skill-set and size is far superior.

He loses a lot of carries inside the red zone to the "Jumbo Package" McClain and Castille, but I expect him to get more carries than last year just as Mongo said. They will work in Coffee and others a bit, but Darby will be the workhorse.

In spite of his years as a gamecock, there may or may not be an Auburn RB higher on this list...
