# 34 -- H.B. Blades, LB, Pitt
Class: SR
Hometown: Plantation, Fla.
High School: Plantation
Height / Weight: 6-0 / 240
Position: LB
Career Stats:
36 Games 4 Ints 1 TD 121 Tackles (67 Solo) 4 TFL, 1 Forced Fumble
Who is he:
Blades has improved steadily for Pitt and is now one of the top LBs in the nation. The son of former NFL player Bennie Blades, H.B. shows good instincts around the ball and is big enough to fight through blocks. He works well in space, and plays within his assignments on zone schemes. He's an elite pro prospect as well going in the first round of all early mocks.
Notes:
- Son of Bennie Blades
- First team All-Big East
- Pitt's Defensive MVP
- Preseason candidate for Lombardi Award and Chuck Bednarik Award
What to Expect in ’06:
Blades stat columns doesn't impress as much as his on the field presence. He's Pitt's best and most expereienced defender and most schemes are geared to take him out of the game. Even with this, expect an above average stat line and don't be suprised to see Blades go in the top 15 picks of next year's draft.
Projection: 75 Tackles (5 TFL), 2 INTs, 1 Forced Fumble
