# 33 -- Jared Zabransky, QB, Boise St.
Class: SR
Height: 6-2
Weight: 203
Position: Quarterback
Hometown: Hermiston, OR
High School: Hermiston HS
Career Stats:
YEAR CMP ATT YDS CMP% YPA LNG TD INT SACK RAT
2003 11 23 180 47.8 7.83 77 1 1 2 119.22
2004 206 327 2927 63.0 8.95 53 16 12 28 146.99
2005 202 342 2562 59.1 7.49 55 18 16 18 130.00
Who is he:
Zabransky is the only player on my top 40 that doesn't come from a BCS school. He's put up monster points the past few years on the blue turf under the direction of departed coach Dan Hawkins. Even with Hawkins gone, Boise State's high powered attack should continue to put up big stats against a league that's behind them in talent right now. Zabransky's best shot at National appeal came in an opening day blow-out loss to UGA 2 years ago, but he's shined in nearly every other game. Expect another MAC championship for the Broncos and more big stats from Zabransky in his senior season.
Notes:
- fifth in career total offense and passing yards at Boise State
- fourth in career completions
- fifth in career passing attempts
- sixth in career touchdown passes
- fourth in 200-yard passing games, fifth in 300-yard passing games
- fifth in career rushing touchdowns
- ninth in career touchdowns
- WAC offensive player multiple times
- WAC Preseason Offensive Player of the Year by The Sporting News
- Preseason honorable mention All-America
- First-team All-WAC by Street & Smith’s
- First-team All-WAC by Athlon Sports
What to Expect in ’06:
Zabransky actually regressed slightly last year, but I attibute this to attrition at the skill positions from the previous season. I expect a slight return to form with nice stats and for Zabransky to be a solid leader. If he can cut down on his INTs, expect him to go early on day 2 in next year's draft.
Projection: 200/320 passing (62.5%), 2850 Yards, 20 TDs, 15 INTs.
