View Full Version : Joe Horn on the block
Make an offer. Not really looking for picks this year, but can be used to even out a trade.

So much more clever than "Shitdick", "Fuck yourself"....and the lovely discriptors that you put together. You really have such a wonderful grasp on colorful vocabulary. I am really in awe.

Not true. I am in awe at the Special Olympics. The perseverance that it takes for those athletes to compete is something of worth in the world. The kind of lasting effort that it takes to build long-term relationships like in a dynasty league. I don't think you know how to build a short-term relationship, much less a long-term one, Gutter. I think your behavior tells me that you're going to leave this league in less than two years. Leave now and save us the pain of dealing with you during that time.

a) I don't know who the fuck you are.
b) If anyone has "damaged relationships", it's you and DD. DD called me a retard for selecting Kitna, because it's obvious he is on his roster. And then you called me a rookie. I'm simply defending myself.
c) I have been in many, many FF leagues and have had fine "relationships" with all owners.
d) You're a faggot. Who talks like this, "you don't know how to have a good fantasy relationship", fuck you. It's a football league, not Oprah.

You don't know who I am because I was at fftoday long before you started there and I've gotten past the point where I hang out posting on the "community" part of the site. You are a rookie in our league, and you clearly can't take a joke. You went off the deep end and began a flame war. I don't care about your other FF leagues. I care about where this one is going with you in it.

I disagree...he'll have more of an impact than anyone left on the board. I think he'll be a helluva a QB in DET with all the talent at WR and if KJ can actually stay healthy and run the ball.
Plus plenty of teams will need QB's this year...who's to say he doesn't move Kitna for a younger, talented player via trade. It's a great pick at that spot, you can't downplay that no matter how bad you got owned.

It's nice that we can come in here and teach some of these guys the finer points of FF drafting.

I'll agree that he was probably the best player available in a bad draft overall. Who would trade a younger talented player for Kitna, though....seriously....? All that talent at WR amounts to Roy Williams for the most part. Charles Rodgers and Mike Williams are fighting to make the roster. Scotty Vines showed some heart last year, but the talent in Detroit at WR is not what the high picks would make you believe. I also doubt Kitna's ability to run the offense as well as Warner, Green or even Bulger, because it requires a deep touch that Kitna just does not have in his arsenal.

you're kiddin' me...I've seen some of these rosters, we know QB's get hurt. A lot of people aren't to deep at QB, if your starter goes down and you have to get a serviceable QB...you'd move an unproven WR or RB to get that guy....

Alright, I'm just saying, you only have 1 starting QB. Once Simms gets benched, we'll talk.
I'm looking for a second rounder in next year's draft for Horn. I'd also consider a package deal for a younger player.
Please don't try and convince me that trading for Kitna is a positive move for me team. If I wanted a stop-gap QB, there are better ones out there to trade for.

That's pretty irresponsible to not start a QB, isn't it? Not fair to the rest of the league.
I know I would be pissed if a team I was battling for the playoffs played an opponent that didn't start a full roster.

Have you seen my team? I will field my most competitive team from week to week, but I also need to improve my team overall. You'll realize if you stay at this long enough that you can't always do both at the same time. I've ridden a bunch of old farts for the past few years, and I'm attempting to get value for them while they still have gas in the tank. If I don't get value for Horn, I'll keep him, and I'll score more points because of it, because it will put losers like Reggie Williams on the bench.

I realize the balance. I also realize that you need to look like you're not throwing the games to get a draft pick and fuck up other player's seasons.

So explain to me how an injury to my quarterback would be throwing games to get a draft pick and screw up other player's seasons????
While it's a huge long shot, it's possible Josh McCown or Vince Young are
on the field due to injuries or ineffectiveness.
What's your point?

My point is that all players should play responsible and do their best to field a full starting roster each week. If you don't have a QB, you should pick one up or trade for one.
To a certain extent, I agree. However, I don't agree in my case that an injury to Simms would mean that I should trade away my future to fill the spot. That is also irresponsible. Panic trades like that give an already strong player a Jon Kitna for Ladanian Tomlinson type of trade that imbalances the league.
If a reasonable backup is available in free agency, they'll be long gone by that time. These are deep rosters. It's pretty bare out there.

Well, only a complete idiot would trade LT for Kitna. I'm just saying if you have no QB and I have Kitna, you should do your best to make a trade for him, a fill in WR, a draft pick. If you were making a playoff run against me, and I was playing a team with no starting QB, you'd be a little pissed, wouldn't ya?
:D Stephen Alexander (TE) was traded for a first round pick that turned out to be Ladanian Tomlinson in this league. Unfortunately, due to the depth of rosters in this league, teams will vary in strength throughout the season. It's a fact you come to live with. Dropping everything to fill one spot and open up a hole at another or trade away top draft picks is not a wise option. Sure, if a mutually beneficial trade works out, then great, but in the past, it's been a difficult thing to navigate, and teams have been forced to just take it on the chin.
