NCAA Tourney Quarter Finals:
My boys #5 seeded 'Cuse hold off a late run by #4 Johns Hopkins to advance to the Final Four. :hyper:
And unseeded UMass scores the last 5 goals (4th quarter) to force #3 Hofstra to overtime, and then wins in sudden death to advance to the schools 1st final four appearance.
Two more games today...

My son plays youth lax in Maryland. He has been to training seminars at the Naval Academy which was really cool. We got the College sports channel on Dish just for college LaCrosse. Good luck to your son. :points:
Also I hate baseball, soccer and basketball. I was so glad to see my son get on a lacrosse team. I was hooked the first game I went to. Real exciting contact sport.

Love to hear kids getting into Lax. It's a great game that can be played almost anywhere. If you haven't yet you should buy a stick and play catch with your son. It's the kind of "catch" you can play with your son for those that hate baseball
Correction: When I typed "my boys" I meant "my boyz", not my boy's. I played at Syracuse.

Oh, I see you were talking about your team now. Syracuse gets plenty of respect down here in MD, and we have Hopkins, Navy, and MD, to name a few. There is a 2A school up in the Syracuse area that I saw play a few weeks ago on TV that wasn't too shabby either. The school name started with an "M" and they had won like 69 straight games. They buried the team they were playing. They got into this pass-score, pass-score rythum that put lots of points up fast.
I will set the Tivo and catch upon what is left of the King of Spring.
ETA: Yes, I have a stick and I got my son a regulation goal. He is on a U11 team now. They won 10 zip last Saturday.

I'm guessing the school was LaMoyne (Div 2), ranked #1.
The popularity of lax in upstate NY and Long Island is matched only by Maryland. Funny thing is if you look at the rosters of Maryland, Hopkins, Towson, or UNC a large chunk of their players are from 1 of 3 high schools in upstate NY... West Genesse, Fayetteville/Manlias, and one other I'm forgetting the name of. The amount of lax talent that comes out of these HS is obsurd.
That's great that you got him a net. That helped me big time when I was learning. And I'm sure you already know this but the more your son can practice throwing/shooting with his off-hand the better. Even at an early stage if he's as good lefty as righty he'll have a HUGE advantage over others.

You got it: LaMoyne. I still have that game on the hard drive. We are Navy fans, and I also have the Navy/Hopkins game from a few weeks back. It really looked like Navy had them for the first time in like 31 games and then it all fell apart. The Hopkins goaly really took the game away.
The coach my son had last year would challenge the whole team to go out and finish the second half left handed if they got up big time in the first half.

That's some good coaching there. It's tough to get kids out of there comfort zone during a game. No one at that age wants to be the one that screws up during a game so everyone sticks with what they know (righty or lefty).
Good luck to your son
